シリコンバレー・コンサルタント M.Kato氏来訪

11月4日、SiliconValleyJapnのビジネス・コンサルタントMark Kato氏が8Beatを訪れてくれました。八王子サイバーシルクロード会長・甲谷勝人氏のご紹介です。
M.Kato氏は、たいへんエネルギッシュな方で、最初は（失礼ながら）普通の表敬訪問かなと思っていたのですが、とんでもない、少し話が佳境に入るや、即座にご自分の資料を開いて、いきなりプレゼンがスタートしました。

Kato氏が繰り返し強調されたのは、ValueでありStrategyこそが重要だという点でした。
八王子の現状を念頭に置きながら、ただの「ものづくり」ではなく、その「もの」によってどのようなValueを社会に提案できるのか、そのために事業体としてどのようなStrategyを構築していくのか、その点を熟考する必要があると、アップルを筆頭に様々なシリコンバレー企業を具体例に挙げながら体系的にお話して頂きました。
このお話を伺いながら、我々は「もの」こそつくりませんが、その代わりに八王子を拠点とした多層的なネットワークを創出しようとしているのですから、基本的な考え方は同じであると思いました。

実は、非常にもったいないことに、上記のプレゼンは小柳と私（國本）の二人だけで伺ってしまい、しかもKato氏には好きなだけ質問させて頂いたという夢の様な環境で、ほとんど家庭教師状態でした！
年に数回は来日されているそうですので、8Beatでも、あらためてM.Kato氏のセミナーの機会を作りたいと思っています。
